When you are handling depression stay focused on the things you eat and eat more complex carbohydrates. A lack of complex carbs can lead to a shortage of serotonin, a significant factor in depression. A good way to increase your intake is by adding whole grains, beans, brown rice, nuts, fresh fruits and raw veggies to your diet.<\/p>\n

Spend some time doing something that makes you happy. The thing you have to do is take action. Take charge of your life and refuse to take the role of a spectator. Do not let your life pass you by; it is fine to observe, but you must also live!<\/p>\n

Take a trip with a buddy to the movie theater as a method of conquering anxiety. You will be out and about, but not in a setting that requires a lot of social interaction. It can also be an effective way for you to become more comfortable with being near a large group of people.<\/p>\n

If you find yourself consistently falling short of self-imposed goals and guidelines, step back and assess the possible problems. Check online and find others whom share similar goals with you and find out what they are doing compared to what you’re doing. The problem may be that you have unreal expectations, that you judge yourself too harshly or that you need to try a different route.<\/p>\n
